- Excellent programming skills in two or more of Perl, Java, C++, R, PHP
- Excellent knowledge of working on Windows and Unix systems
- Experience with software development methodologies and tools such as version control sytems
- Experienced with software testing procedures

- Medical or scientific background, in particular bioinformatics and genomics
- Experience in presenting and customer-facing situations

- Independent self-starter
- Comfortable working in small teams in a dynamic environment
